The camera is great. The Sony CCD is great, the electronics is great the casing is nearly great.
Nearly great? Yep.... nearly great.
The problem I had was basically indecision. I moved and tweaked the camera's position and angle a lot before I was happy... which meant undoing and doing up the arm screws a lot.
The rotation clamp is a good sixed toothed twist and clamp setup, so the hex screw doesn't need the take much is any tension.
So doing it up finger tight and a tweak for luck is fine.
The tilt elbow however has a lot smaller teeth and when tightened, it needs a bit of extra tension to lock it in place - as it is also coping with the weight of the camera often of centre. After about 15 tweaks, I shredded the tread :(
The steel hex bolt screws into the elbow and aluminium/'die cast' is a very soft metal.... so be careful.
For most, this would reason in "game over" but personally, I 'never give up... never surrender' and found a square nut that fitted the screw and fitted inside the elbow. A serviceable fix but probably not a common "user serviceable" option.
Having taken the thing apart to fix this, I would say that replacing the mount with an alternative would be close to impossible so be warned.
